History has it that Oba Dosunmu purportedly signed a treaty with representatives of Queen Victoria on august 6, 1861. the treaty was the session of Lagos with adjoining territories to Britain for ever in exchange for annual pension of 1,000 pound sterling. how true is this? of what significance to the socio – political and economics history of Lagos from then till now?.
