After qualifying the Super Eagles of Nigeria for the 2018 FIFA World Cup which will hold in Russia, Gernot Rohr has been given a two-year contract extension by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The 64-year-old German tactician was appointed head coach of the Super Eagles in August 2016, and was given the mandate to take Nigeria to Russia 2018 World Cup.
Rohr did not only qualified the Super Eagles for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, but Nigeria finished the qualifiers unbeaten in a group that has two former African champions Cameroon and Zambia.
NFF president Amaju Pinnick announced the German’s contract extension in an event on Monday, November 27.
According to Pinnick, Rohr has been given a two-year contract extension and also paid up until December 2017.
Gernot Rohr’s new contract will now stretch his stay as head coach of the Super Eagles until the year 2020.
