The Lagos state police command said four hundred and eighty six armed robbery suspects were arrested while forty-six lost their lives during confrontation with the police between December 2015 and now.

The state commissioner of police, Fatai Owoseni revealed this during a presentation on the command’s activities within the last one year, at a town hall meeting on security organized by the Lagos State Security Trust Fund in Lagos.

He also revealed that one hundred and seventy-nine armed robbery cases were prevented due to swift response by the police while ninety-one could not be prevented.

On kidnapping, the police chief said thirty-eight suspected kidnappers were arrested while one hundred and eighty-one suspects were arrested in connection with cultism and street fight.

Owoseni however pledged that even though six police officers lost their lives while serving during the year in review, the command will continue to ensure a secure and safer Lagos making use of the resources available to it.
