Ambode Lectures Traffic Operators On LASTMA

As part of efforts of the Federal Roads Safety Commission FRSC to key into the United Nation’s directives for all traffic regulatory agencies to involve all levels of government in their operations,this annual lecture series are organized to create an avenue for cross fertilization of ideas.
Delivering a keynote paper on the success strategies behind the Lagos state traffic management authority,LASTMA, at the sixth edition of the lecture series in Abuja,Lagos state governor,Akinwunmi Ambode said setting up such an agency is a necessity in order to reduce traffic congestion as well as improve lives of citizens.
Represented by the Secretary to the state government,Dr. Tunji Bello,Ambode said Lagos state has ensured smooth collaboration with relevant security bodies in order to enhance service delivery.
The corps marshal,federal roads safety corps,Boboye Oyeyemi commended Lagos state traffic model and enjoined other federating states to emulate the internationally acclaimed efforts of Lagos state. Other dignitaries at the occasion including sultan of sokoto abubakar sa’ad,thanked the Lagos state government for blazing the trail in tackling headlong the once-a-hectic traffic situation of lagos. The topic of the sixth annual lecture series is Partnering with states on road safety administration.
