 Ambode to Declare Open NUJ NEC Meeting Saturday

nuj (1)Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State will on Saturday, April 16, declare open the National Executive Council, NEC, meeting of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ.

NEC, which is the highest policy making body of the NUJ consists of the National President, his Deputy, Vice Presidents, National Trustees and Chairmen and Secretaries of the 36 states Councils and Abuja.

According to a statement signed by Deji Elumoye and Bimbo Oyetunde, Chairman and Secretary of Lagos State Council of the NUJ respectively, the Chairman of Centre for Free Speech, Mr. Richard Akinnola, will deliver a lecture on the theme of the meeting: Journalists As Agent of Change, at the event being hosted by Lagos NUJ.

Dignitaries that will grace the opening ceremony to be chaired by former Governor of Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, include Senator Oluremi Tinubu (Mother of the Day), Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Mudashiru Obasa (Special Guest), His Royal Majesty, Oba Rilwan Akiolu 1, Oba of Lagos (Royal Father of the Day) while Managing Director of Med-View Airlines, Alhaji Muneer Bankole will serve as Father of the Day.

The meeting holding at Combo Hall, Lagos Television, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos from 10.00am will also have the Corps Marshal of the FRSC, Mr. Oyeyemi Boboye, speaking on The Media and Safety on The Roads.

The state of the Union/State of the Nation are to be deliberated upon at the NUJ NEC–in-session at the end of which a communiqué is expected to be issued
