The success of the All Progressives Congress in the Katsina, Borno and Kogi senatorial bye elections last weekend has been ascribed to the confidence of Nigerians in the Buhari led administration.
The senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu gave this indication on Monday during a joint briefing in the state house with his acting president counterpart, Laolu Akande
Garba said this resounding electoral victories are reinforcing clearly the confidence of Nigerians in the leadership of president Buhari and the acting vice president, Yemi Osinbajo.
The presidential media aide further posited that the election victory is a clear message to the national assembly that Nigerians are not interested in the emerging drama among the lawmakers rather than how to move the country forward by supporting the progressive posture of the APC government.
Meanwhile the federal government has launched a new initiative under the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP), called the TraderMoni, which will empower two million petty traders between now and the end of the year.
The scheme, which was launched last week in Lagos, would grant a minimum of 30,000 loans in each State of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
