APC Witnesses Mass Defection
The House of Representatives also witnessed mass defection of about 37 members from the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Thirty two members moved to the Peoples Democratic party, four others from Oyo state moved to the African Democratic Congress, While the Chairman Rules and Business, Emmanuel Oker-Jev from Benue state is yet to announce his new party.
The decision of these individuals saw lawmakers from the PDP divide jubilating even before the official announcement at plenary.
In the reactions that followed, Majority leader of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila has described the defectors as fairweather politicians who lack political ideologies and are simply trying to secure return tickets.
For the defectors, on their part cited rampant cases of victimisation and criminalisation of APC members among other issues for their action .
However, the APC still has the majority in the House of Representatives inspite of the mass defection.
