Nigerian Students have been advised to always aspire to solve the enormous problems facing the country with the wealth of knowledge and skills they acquire in School in the best interest of Nigeria.
The wife of Ondo Governor, Her Excellency, Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu gave this advice in a goodwill message presented at the 2018 Joint Valedictory Service/Prize Giving Ceremony of Chrisland Schools, held at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Mrs Akeredolu observed that days are gone when students study, write and pass examinations just to look for job opportunities but advised that Nigerian Students should channel the wealth of knowledge and skills they acquired in school to solving Nigeria’s numerous problems.
In her own words, “I will like to add here that you should go out there, dream big, do yourself and your parents proud and also do your country proud.
“I also want to advise you; days are gone when we just go to school, cram, write examination and look for job opportunities. These days there is a paradigm shift for you to begin to seek to make use of those knowledge and skills you acquired in school to solve the problems of this country that are enormous.
“These days we want our students to look around, to be self aware that this country is bedeviled with problems and we are asking you to figure out the solution.”
She described Chrisland Schools as one of the leading schools when it comes to quality education in Nigeria and urged the graduating students to take advantage of the solid foundation they have obtained in order to excel.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Managing Director of Chrisland Schools, Mrs Ibironke Olatokunbo Adeyemi, revealed that the 229 Chrisland Schools’ young, vibrant and hardworking graduands have been tutored and mentored to stand for excellence in all ramifications.
Adeyemi also said they have received the best quality and world class education that can stand them out anywhere in the world; this, according to her, informed the choice of this year’s theme which is, ” Licensed to Lead.”
She further expressed hope that the fresh graduands will undoubtedly impact their generation positively, stressing that their most outstanding and highly impressive performance in the West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination released recently is a pointer to their bright future.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Occasion and one-time Nigeria’s Minister for Information, Prof. Jerry Gana, extolled the graduating students to imbibe leadership qualities such as discipline, vision, innovation, and strategy, for them to continue to excel.
The Vice Chancellor of Chrisland University, Prof. Peace Babalola, Senator Daisy Danjuma, High Chief (Dr) Mrs W.A. Awosika (OON) -Chairman/Founder of Chrisland Schools Limited- and Chancellor of Chrisland University, were among the numerous dignitaries at the event.
