Bye-election: Army restricts movement in Borno

The Nigerian Army has imposed a restriction movement of persons during Saturday’s Borno Central Senatorial bye-election in the state.

Col. Tukur Gusau the media coordinator of Operation Lafiya Dole stated this in a statement in Maiduguri.

It also informed the residents of Maiduguri Metropolitan Council and Jere Local Government Area, that a restriction order will be effective during the bye-election scheduled on Saturday  in Borno Central senatorial zone of the state.

Gusau explained that the restriction will take place between 6am and 5pm.

Gusau added that no vehicles would be allowed into and out of the senatorial zone during the bye-election.

He called on the voters to come out freely to exercise their constitutional rights, adding that appropriate security measures have been put in place to guarantee peaceful election exercise throughout the senatorial zone.
