CIVIL DEFENCE DRAFTED TO NORTH EAST

Over Five thousand personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps have been drafted to the north east to fight the boko haram insurgents.
The Commandant General, Abdullahi Mohammadu gave the indication during a familiarization tour by the Minister of Interior, General Abdurahman Dambazau to the NSCDC headquarters in Abuja.
He said the gesture is targeted at sustaining the present onslaught against the Boko Haram sects.
The commandant General further vowed that the Corps will continue to initiate and implement policies aimed at ensuring safety of lives and properties in the country.
On his part, The Minister of Interior, General Abdulrahman Dambazau charged the NSCDC to be proactive,as is expected of their role especially in the area of conflict resolution.
High point of the event was the gallant demonstration of various units of the corps such as disaster management team, special task force team amongst others.
