The Acting General Manager, Lagos State Material Testing Laboratory, Engr. Rasheed Teslim Balogun has called on Developers and Building contractors to adhere strictly to building regulations in the state
He gave this advice while conducting a structural stability test on the building that collapsed at Mile 12 on saturday morning.

Rasheed Teslim -Balogun were on ground on Sunday to carry out a structural stability test on the building. According to Engr. Teslim-Balogun, the 30 year old structure which lost its balcony to the collapse needs further testing to ascertain it’s stability…
The GM called on stakeholders in the Built Industry to ensure they seek proper guidance before they commence on any construction to avoid a re-occurence of such collapse while one of the victims speaks on events leading to the collapse.
It will be recalled that following the collapse of the building at Lekki 2 weeks ago,Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode has mandated the Material Testing Laboratory to carry out random tests on buildings in the state. This is a pro-active measure by government to nip the issue of building collapse in the bud.
