The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has relocated the Oredo local government collation centre from the Urhokpota Hall to Oba Akenzua Cultural Centre.
This is because Urhokpota Hall and its environs is being prepared for the coronation of the Crown Prince of Benin Kingdom, Prince Eheneden Erediauwa.
It is the place called Eko-Ohae (bachelors camp) where Prince Erediauwa is expected to stay immediately he leaves his Palace at Uselu as part of his journey to the Benin ancient throne.
A huge tent has been erected at the premises of Urhokpota Hall which is adjacent the Oba Market.
Electoral Officer for Oredo, Mr. Utong Awajionyi Christian, who confirmed the relocation, said the Imaguero College Hall that was earlier selected was rejected by politicians for security reasons.
Mr. Utong said materials have been deployed to all the rack camps in the 12 Wards in Oredo.
He explained that the purpose was to ensure election begins early.
