Enugu Rangers have said their wealth of experience saw them through at the expense of Defence Force SC of Ethiopiato the first round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Rangers beat hosts Defence Force 3-1 in Addis Ababa on Wednesday to go through 5-1 on aggregate.
They will now face USM Bel Abbes of Algeria later this month.
Rangers’ coach Gbenga Ogunbote said his team drew from their experience even after they conceded a first minute penalty after a hand ball inside the box in Ethiopia.
“Experience gave us the edge knowing that we came here with a two-goal lead and conceding very early gave us cause for some concern, but we gradually came into the match and got the result we needed.
“Defence Force are not a bad side but we did well to take most of our chances while they did not.”
