In-favor Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku will spend the upcoming season on loan with AS Roma after reaching an agreement with Chelsea.
Romelu Lukaku could sign his contract with AS Roma on Tuesday, August 29, after a £5 million loan agreement was completed in principle. However, those events may be postponed if problems with the UK’s air traffic control systems cause delays to flights.
Lukaku knows his £325,000 weekly salary will be a problem, so he may have to accept a pay cut of more than 50% to join Roma. The club is not required to make the arrangement permanent either.
Lukaku’s transfer to Juventus was discussed with Chelsea earlier this summer, and Inter was also interested in bringing the Belgium international to Milan
Earlier this summer, Juventus and Chelsea held negotiations to bring in Lukaku, and Inter was also interested in acquiring the Belgium international.
