Human Trafficking Conference – CAMPAIGN AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKING
At the Occasion, human trafficking in Nigeria was identified as a criminally driven market based on the principles of demand and supply affecting mostly women and children and everyone was urged to beak the circle of silence around exploration by traffickers for perpetrators to be prosecuted.
Reports say about 10,OOO trafficked persons have so far been rescued from Libya and other destinations back into the country through UN collabrations.
More worrisome is the fact that Nigeria has become a source, transit and destination for human trafficking and smuggling of migrants whose activities are perpetrated through lies, false promise of greater pasture in Europe.
