The Independent National Electoral Commission in Lagos State has concluded arrangements for the conduct of the supplementary election in nine polling units of Ibeju-Lekki State Constituency I on Saturday.
The election became inconclusive as a result of over-voting in the nine polling units covering two registration areas of the constituency
The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr Sam Olumekun, in a statement on Thursday, said the commission had met with all relevant stakeholders in the area, including political parties and affected candidates.
“Only voters with valid permanent voter cards within the constituency will be allowed into the polling units to vote,” he said.
Olumekun listed the affected polling units as Ibeju Registration Area (Ward) Code 01- 6 polling units; premises of RCM School in Okegun (Polling Unit 0010); open space in front of Baale’s house at Okegun Odofin II (PU 003); premises of Customary Court, Ibeju II (PU 004) and premises of Customary Court, Ibeju II (PU 005).
Others are the junction of Ajewale Street, Ibeju III (PU 006); premises of CPS Iba-Oloja (PU 009); Iwerekun registration area ( ward 1 three polling units); open space in front of Baale’s house at Muserikogo (PU 002); premises of CHS, Lakowe (PU 004); and open space in front of Baale’s house, Adeba (PU 005).
Meanwhile, the commission will on March 27 issue certificates of return to the state governor-elect, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat.
Also, the 40 elected members of the state House of Assembly will receive their certificates of return.
