KOGI POLLS: INEC CHOOSE DECEMBER 5 FOR SUPPLEMENTARY ELECTIONS
The Independent National Electoral Commission is to conduct the Kogi state governorship supplementary election on december 5th.
According to a statement signed by the Secretary of the Commission,Augusta Ogakwu, the decision is in view of the circumstances that led to the demise of the Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress,Prince Abubakar Audu.
INEC said it decided to go ahead with the remaining poll in the 91 polling units where elections did not hold after it was officially communicated by the APC on the death of its candidate.
The Commission further added that the time frame is to allow the APC present a new Governorship candidate.
The supplementary poll will however be held same day with the Bayelsa state Governorship election
