LAGOS CITY MARATHON: SOUND SULTAN SIGNS UP FOR THE RACE
Nigeria’s Hip Hop artist Sound Sultan (Fasasi Olarenwaju) has signed on for the Lagos City Marathon schedule to take place onSaturday February 6, 2016 in the Centre of Excellence.
Sound Sultan and some of his members, Harding Olumide (Karma) and Binfa Simon were at the Teslim Balogun Stadium Surulere, office of Lagos City Marathon to complete their registration formalities even as the organizers have announced a general deadline extension for the registration.
The window for registration which was formerly Thursday, January 28 has now been moved by a week to February 4 to accommodate more participants from across the world.
Speaking ahead of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon Race, Sound Sultan commended the Lagos State Government and their partners for investing in something quite beneficial to the youths, via entertainment and Sports.
The multi-award winning star confirmed his willingness to participate in the Saturday February 6 race and also enjoined others yet to register to make the most of the extended period.
Sound Sultan admitted that this was a step in the right direction from the Lagos State government as well as all their partners, and he is happy with the idea of showcasing Lagos city to the world with a marathon.
Chairman of Lagos State Sports Commission and head of the organising committee for the Lagos City Marathon, Mr Deji Tinubu thanked Sound Sultan the crooner and his crew for coming.
Tinubu expressed delight at the wide reception the Lagos City marathon is garnering; adding that all hands are on deck to see that the February 6 race is a huge success.
