For efficient and effective justice delivery in the state, the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Opeyemi Oke, has inaugurated solar power source for use of the courts.
The pilot phase of the project, the first of its kind in all judicial divisions, was commissioned yesterday at the Chief Magistrate Court, Yaba.
She noted that the new power source would help reduce overhead cost and enhance power usage. “Our magistrates can now sit for longer hours and be more productive because as long as their is light, the court rooms will be cool for them to work in.
Four of the power plants were installed to service the four courtrooms, the magistrates’ chambers and other offices within the court complex. The Chief Judge said solar power would be deployed to the courts in all judicial divisions of the state.
