Lagos Traffic Radio 96.1FM, the foremost traffic and transportation radio station in Lagos, is set to begin an advocacy drama series program tagged “IN TRANSIT”.
A statement signed by the General Manager, Mr. Tayo Akanle, explained that the 15-minute drama programme is designed to depict how daily problems or issues can be resolved, thereby facilitating necessary changes in the society, especially amongst Lagosians.
He noted further that the novel initiative will be in a drama and advocacy form geared towards highlighting some of the salient issues in traffic situations, so as to modify the behaviour of road users in conformity with the Road Traffic Law.
“We intend to use the drama programme, not only to educate the listening public on best practices in traffic and transportation, but to also teach them basic knowledge, skills and attitudes on road usage”, Akanle explained.
The General Manager expressed belief that the special drama serial, solely devoted to traffic and transportation, will go a long way in addressing traffic-related issues on the roads and encourage attitudinal change in motorists and other road users.
“Since stories can be incredibly powerful, casting major players and under-represented members of the transport society in the drama series will have a major impact on the listeners, and ultimately change their attitudes and behaviours”, he added.
Akanle averred that the “IN TRANSIT” drama programme, which was conceptualised in collaboration with Behaviour Modification Media, will be broadcast on the station every Thursday at 12.15 pm with a repeat broadcast on Sundays at 6.15 pm.
