Lagos State Government has commiserated with the Lagos State Chapter of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria, FTAN, in particular, and the national body of the Association over the demise of the National President of the Association, Alhaji Saleh Kareem Rabo, who has since been buried according to Islamic rites.

The State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf, in a condolence message issued on behalf of the State Government and the entire tourism family to the leadership of the Association, described Rabo’s death as a rude shock and unexpected to the entire FTAN family and other stakeholders in the tourism sector.

She said, “Our condolences go to the Coordinator of Lagos State Chapter of FTAN, Mr. Gbenga Sunmonu; the Chairman, Board of Trustees, FTAN, Chief Sam Alabi; the Vice President of FTAN, Southwest zone, Otunba Ayo Olumoko and other executive members of this great Association”.

“On behalf of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and the entire tourism family in Lagos State, I express our heartfelt grief and pain over the death of Alhaji Saleh Kareem Rabo and pray for the repose of his soul”, the Commissioner stated.

The Commissioner also expressed the hope that the leadership of FTAN will ensure that the plan of re-establishing FTAN operational presence in each of the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria is actualised.
