 LASG reviews Administrative procedures of 57 Local Government and Local Council Development Areas

Administrative procedures for the fifty-seven local government and local council development areas in Lagos state has been reviewed.

 

Lagos State Head of Service, Mrs. Folashade Jaji, made this known at the stakeholders meeting with executive secretatries, council managers and other stakeholders’ on the revised guidelines on administrative procedure for local government at the secretariat, Alausa-Ikeja.

She said that the new guidelines on administrative procedure will change and maximise the returns on how the resources are being managed in their various council areas and ensure community participation in the process.

 

Mrs. Jaji reiterated that the lagos state governor, Mister Akinwunmi Ambode, has directed that the twenty-ten administrative guidelines should be reviewed to bring it in line with the best practices worldwide in community governance under a federal structure.

 

The chairman of the conference fifty-seven, Mister Kolade Alabi, thanked Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode for the interactive and inclusive reform and assured that all the cardinal points as adopted will be used in line with the guidelines.

 

He also added that executive secretaries will work with governor ambode’s plans for productivity and the realization of the lagos development plan by ensuring that every citizen feel the impact of the government.

 

Part of the reform include the change in the designation of council manager to head of administration, abolition of special advisers at the local government level and limitation of technical department to two while the number of units is also pegged at five in each local government council area.
