An Honourable member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing Epe Federal Constituency, Mr. Wale Raji has partnered with the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), an agency saddled with the responsibility of promoting Micro, Small and Medium-scale businesses in Nigeria, to empower over 60 youths in Epe division.
Speaking at the completion of an intensive training programme for a Certification in Food and Confectionery held at his Constituency office in Epe, Raji stated that the aim of the training was to encourage self-reliance, reduce unemployment and empower youths in Epe Federal Constituency with skills that would economically liberate and give them a steady source of income.
The Federal House member, who was represented at the event by Mr. Bashiru Hassan, his Senior Legislative Aide, stressed that the Agency did not only teach a vocational skill but also empowered the participants with other necessary tools and funds required to fully set up and run their businesses successfully.
He expressed his commitment to continuously partner with SMEDAN and other agencies in organising more training programmes to help the people of Epe, especially the youths, to become financially independent and self-reliant towards alleviating poverty in the division, saying “More of such training that is aimed at equipping constituents with various vocational and technical skills are in the pipeline”.
