LAWMAKERS ON OIL SUBSIDY

With the recurrent challenges bedeviling the nation’s oil sector,the removal of the federal government fuel subsidy may soon be inevitable .

This is the position of some federal Lawmakers while speaking with Lagos Television on their submissions over calls in some quarters that the huge subsidy being paid by the federal government be removed so as to halt the corruption inherent in the distribution chains within the nation’s petroleum industry.

Meanwhile,the Senate in the outgoing week,urged it’s committee on downstream to urgently examine all issues associated with the current scarcity of petroleum products and determine how the legislature will work with the executive arm of government to bring a lasting solution to the problem of fuel scarcity across the country.
