Manchester United and Chelsea will meet on the opening weekend of the 2019-20 Premier League season after the fixtures for the new campaign were released on Thursday.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will face Wolves in their second game, before matches against Crystal Palace, Southampton Leicester City and West Ham. They then host Arsenal and Liverpool either side of an international break.
Chelsea, on the other hand host Leicester next and then face a pair of promoted teams in Norwich and Sheffield United on matchday three and four respectively.
Champions Manchester City have been given a relatively comfortable opening few games against West Ham, Spurs, Bournemouth, Brighton, Norwich and Watford.
Last year’s runner-up Liverpool will kick off the season with a Friday night match against newly-promoted Norwich at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp’s side crowned European champion earlier this month finished second last season despite amassing a record 97 points.
They will be hoping to maintain momentum when they play at Southampton and Arsenal in their first three fixtures.
Both Manchester City and Liverpool will meet at Anfield on November 9 with the reverse on April 4, which could have major implications for next season’s title race.
