NAVAL CHIEF ASSURES OF SECURITY ON WATERWAYS

The Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral Atiku Abdulkadir is assuring residents around all the Eastern Naval Command Base of utmost security of their lives and property.
According to the Naval boss, the command has doubled its presence on the waterways, to ensure no crime is recorded.
The Rear Admiral was speaking with journalists after the last quarter road march of officers and ratings of the command to improve their fitness in Calabar the Cross River State capital.
The FOC, who was represented by the Command Operation Officer, Commodore Ime Henry Ekpa, said the command is not ignorant of the fact that though there is no society devoid of crime, the command is determined to curb the criminal activities on the waterways.
He maintained that, there are lined up of many operations and exercise which the Chief of Naval Staff himself is expected to involved to ensure that all our seafarers enjoy safe passages and do their businesses unhindered.
The road march which kicked off from the NNS Victory base through IBB Way, Marian Road, Mary Slessor Avenue, Calabar Road and back to the base is according to the Commanding Officer, NNS Victory meant to ensure the fitness of officers at all times in the discharge of their duties and also a way of alerting the public of their presence at this festive period.
