Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has hailed his team’s resilience as they can from behind to stun defending champions Manchester City at the King Power Stadium on Boxing Day, AOIFootball.com reports.
Having picked up a surprise win last Saturday away at Chelsea, Leicester City were poised for yet another major upset going into the match. Manchester City, however, took the lead after 14 minutes through Bernardo Silva, but just like it was seven days ago in the Carabao Cup, the Foxes drew level five minutes later through Marc Albrighton who concerted a Jamie Vardy assist, much to the delight of the home fans as both teams went into the break level.
It seemed both teams were going to share the points when defender Ricardo Pereira hit a rocket of a shot past Eduardo to hand Leicester the lead with nine minutes left. They then hung on to all three points. “Three points in the bag, Foxes never quit,” Ndidi posted after the match.
The game was another superb performance for the Super Eagles defensive midfield trojan who was ever present to cut any Man City attack. His performance earned him a game rating of 7.7 afterward.
