 Nigeria records 544 new COVID-19 cases, toll now 28,711

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has confirmed 544 new cases of COVID-19 in the country.

The 544 new cases brought the nation’s confirmed COVID-19 infection cases to 28,711.

The agency made this known via its verified Twitter handle @NCDCgov on Sunday.

According to the agency, 199 new cases of the virus were reported in Lagos State, 67 in Ebonyi State, 47 in Oyo State, 67 in Rivers State, 62 in Delta State, 46 in Ondo State, 31 in Ogun State, 30 in Edo State, 28 in the FCT, 25 in Katsina State, 15 in Plateau State, 11 in Bayelsa State, 10 in Kaduna State.

Others are; 10 in Kaduna State, 10 in Adamawa State, eight in Akwa-Ibom State, seven in Gombe State, four in Kano State, three in Taraba State, two in Rivers State, two in Abia State, and one in Ekiti State.

So far, as of 5th July, there were 28,711 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Nigeria; 11,665 discharged, with 645 deaths.
