The Nigerian army has commenced investigation into the recent protest by some of its men against their posting to the northeast.
Chief of Army staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai gave the indication at an interactive session with the media in Abuja.
Buratai who condemned the act said the affected soldiers would face the military justice system further revealed that the army is working hard to checkmate the activities of the fifth columnist within the rank..
The army boss further assured that plans are underway to launch a stabilization campaign targeted at ensuring a hitch free return of refugees in the North East to their ancestral homes
In a related development, south Africa chief of Army staff Lieutenant General Ledeli Yam has restated commitment to collaborate with Nigerian Army in combating security challenges.
General Yam who gave the indication during a courtesy visit to his Nigerian counterpart said the collaboration will enhance sharing tactical intelligence and information to tackle security challenges across the continent.
It will be recalled that the Nigerian chief of Army staff visited south Africa in January, with the aim of mapping out modalities to addressing mutual security challenges.
