 NPC Raises Alarm Over Population Growth
POPULATION GROWTH The National Population Commission has raised alarm over the current Population Growth rate in the county.
Chairman of the commission, Chief Eze Duruiheoma gave the indication while addressing the media on activities lined up to commemorate the 2018 world population day in Abuja.
He said Nigeria risks having a population figure of 410 million and becoming the third most populous Nation in the world by 2030 if nothing is done to address the issue.
The NPC boss further warned that the consequence of such development would have negative impact on the citizenry.
Chief Duruiheoma also reacted on the delay in the conduct of the next housing and population census saying the commission is not loosing sleep on the issue.
The theme of the 2018 World population day is “Family planning as a human right”.
