Acting President Condemns Unauthorized Takeover Of The National Assembly

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, has described the unauthorized takeover of the National Assembly complex earlier today as a gross violation of constitutional order, rule of law and all accepted notions of law and order.

According to him, the unlawful act which was done without the knowledge of the Presidency is condemnable and completely unacceptable.
By this statement, Professor Osinbajo is consequently assuring Nigerians that all persons within the law enforcement apparatus who participated in this travesty will be identified and subjected to appropriate disciplinary action.
There have been speculations in the media of alleged plans by some Senators to forcibly reconvene plenary to ouster Senate Preaident, Bukola Saraki.
Meanwhile, the minority leader in the upper chamber, Senator Godswill Akpabio had tendered his resignation letter to the Deputy minority leader, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha.
Akpabio in the letter thanked the PDP Senators for allowing him lead their caucus for the past three years.
The leadership of the national assembly are expected to hold an emergency meeting this afternoon over some requests of the executive arm on the 2018 supplementary budgets
