PARLIAMENTARIANS URGED TO TAKE LEGISLATIVE STUDIES

The relevance of engaging legislative studies on the sustainability of democratic institutions in the country and in Africa cannot be over stressed.
Nigerian parliamentarians must therefore imbibe the attitude of going through constant trainings on the technicalities of democratic values so as to remain relevant to the aspirations of their immediate society.
At a legislative public lecture in Abuja on the topic:appraising the impact of sound legislative studies on parliamentarians in a developing democracy, the lecturer, Professor Chiwobi Nwazuruike laments the present state of stagnation in the manner things are done by the major players of the space of governance despite their undying quest for political power.
The event also featured presentation of heroes of the parliament awards to some members of the house of representatives.
Among the awardees was the member representing Lagos Island ll federal constituency,honourable Yakub Balogun.
