The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ahoada East Council of Rivers State, SP Bako Angbashim, was brutally murdered on Friday in Odumude Forest after being ambushed by a suspected Iceland cult group, according to the Rivers State Police Command, which reported that its agents have detained six suspects in connection with the case. This was said in a statement released by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, on Sunday. Six people were captured during this operation, she claimed, within the neighbourhood. Among the things taken were several charms and a firearm made in the area. These individuals are currently being questioned at the State CID, Port Harcourt, along with the things that were seized. They are also in police custody. Residents of the hamlet have left as a result of these developments. However, she added that the division now has a new DPO, SP Zuokumor Richard, who is supported by tactical teams, one-third of a unit from Mopol 19, 56, and half of a unit from Mopol 48 said, he is responsible for conducting a thorough search of the area, apprehending those guilty for the DPO’s death, recovering the body, and finding any operable weapons that may have been used. While the inquiry is continuing, this operation will continue, she said.
