The commissioner of police Lagos police command, Cp. Zubairu Muazu has launched Operation Puff Adder in Lagos.
Launching the operation Puff Adder on Thursday, at the command headquarters, Cp Muazu said it was a special operation introduced by the acting Inspector General of police, Igp. Mohammed Adamu Abubakar code-named Operation Puff Adder, aimed at predominating and reclaiming the public space from heinous criminal element that are bent on threatening the nation’s internal security and order.
He said officers and men for the operations were drawn from police mobile force, Tactical Units, Criminal intelligence bureau, Criminal investigation department, Raid Response Squad, Taskforce and conventional policemen.
The men, he said are charged to ensure zero tolerance of all form of criminality and deal decisively with criminal elements in Lagos state.
Cp warned that tough times await those who chose the path of crime in the state.
He also stressed that he would take the battle to their doorsteps adding that Lagosians have a right to a more peaceful and orderly state and that with the support of the good people of Lagos state they would rid the state of the criminal elements.
Cp Muazu cautioned all the chosen members of the Puff Adder to discharge their duties with a high sense of responsibility and to operate within the ambit of the law and respect the fundamental human rights of the citizenry.
He also advised patents to take care of their wards or children during this Puff adder exercise period.
He also paraded 159 suspects arrested for armed robbery, kidnapping and cultism and showed the 43 arms and 80 ammunition he recovered from them.
