PVC Collection Will Continue – INEC

The ongoing extension of the voters registration exercise by the independent national electoral commission INEC will end this month’s end but the collection of the permanent voter ‘s card still continues.
Chairman of INEC, professor Yakub Mahmoud made this clarification among others while briefing state house correspondents in Abuja today.
The INEC boss said the commission has so far increased the number of registered voters to 80 million as a result of the ongoing exercise.
ON whether the electoral umpire is worried over the delay in the passage of the virement by the national assembly, the INEC boss said what is important is that the two committees in both houses were indeed satisfied with the clarifications made by the body on its appropriations.
The INEC chairman further explained that no matter the delay being experienced at present over its appropriations, there is no provision for any postponement in the time table of the 2019 polls.
