SANWO-OLU CONGRATULATES PRESIDENT TINUBU ON VICTORY AT TRIBUNAL

The All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu were both successful in their cases before the Presidential Election Petition Court, which rendered its decision today in Abuja. Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu congratulated President Bola Tinubu on the well-deserved win.

The President, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and APC members throughout Nigeria worked very hard for the victory at the February 25 presidential election, according to Governor Sanwo-Olu, who noted that today’s decision by the Presidential Election Petition Court, which was in the President’s favour, is consoling and also an affirmation of the will of the over eight million Nigerians who turned out to cast their ballots for the APC and President Bola Tinubu as their choice.

In a statement released on Wednesday by his chief press secretary, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, Governor Sanwo-Olu claimed that the people of Nigeria had spoken through the ballot box and that the court had confirmed their choice with today’s judicial rulings, which upheld President Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 presidential election.

The Governor said that based on President Tinubu’s track record and commendable accomplishments as a two-term Governor of Lagos State, millions of Nigerians had no reason to question the mandate freely granted to him to steer the ship of Nigeria for four years.

“What we are seeing today is the splendour of democracy and the rule of law,” he remarked. More than eight million Nigerians participated in the election that chose Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to lead the Federal Republic of Nigeria in February of this year.

“Normally, we believed that the losers should have shown good sportsmanship by congratulating the victor (President Tinubu), but they instead opted to challenge the election results, which is within their rights. Now that the Court has confirmed the outcome of the election. I hope they’ll take the necessary action.

“I congratulate the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Tinubu on his well deserved victory at the Presidential Election Tribunal Court.

“I also extend my congratulations to the leadership and members of our great party, the All Progressives Congress, as well as to all Nigerians living in Nigeria and abroad for this historic legal victory.”

Invoking today’s court decision as a triumph for democracy and the rule of law, Governor Sanwo-Olu urged Nigerians of all political stripes to work with President Bola Tinubu to bring the true benefits of democracy to Nigerians through the Renewed Hope agenda of the current government.
