President Muhammadu Buhari has received an assurance from Service Chiefs that the December deadline to end the activities of the Boko Haram in the north-east Nigeria would be met.

The assurance came at a meeting with the Service Chiefs held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja .

At the meeting, which was held behind closed-doors, the President and the Service Chiefs assessed the war against terror, the success and the challenges facing the military.

While briefing reporters after the meeting, the Chief of Defense Staff, Major General Abayomi Olonisakin, said the meeting had become necessary to review the operations of the military after 60 days into the new order.

Major General Olonisakin said the mandate would be delivered, in spite of the challenges of weather and logistics.
