Seychelles: Rohr Drops Iheanacho, Hands Onuachu First Call-Up.

Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr on Monday dropped Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho from his 23-man squad for this month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Pirates of Seychelles and the friendly against Egypt’s Pharaohs, both in Asaba, Delta State

But the German gaffer surprisingly handed 24-year-old 6ft7in tall FC Midtjylland striker a first invitation to the national team.

Flying Eagles’ defender Valentine Ozornwafor (Enyimba) and U-17 World Cup winner, Victor Osimhen, in his squad for both matches, but left out Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze, who had a fine debut against Uganda last year in Asaba.

Leganes defender Kenneth Omeruo is included in the squad alongside other regulars Leon Balogun, Abdullahi Shehu and William Troost-Ekong, as well as midfielders Oghenekaro Etebo and Wilfred Ndidi and forwards Odion Ighalo, Alex Iwobi and Moses Simon.

The three-time African champions, who have qualified for the 2019 AFCON in Egypt, confront Seychelles in a largely ceremonial session at the Stephen Keshi Stadium on March 22, and then tackle the Pharaohs of Egypt at the same venue in an international friendly four days later.

All invited players, alongside the technical and backroom crew, are to report in the Delta State capital on March 18
