Acting Director General of the Standards Organisztion of Nigeria, Dr Paul Angyi stated this at a stakeholders meeting in Lagos before leading officials to seal up some warehouses where fake and counterfeit products are kept
Our LTV correspondent says that Worried by the spate of building collapse occasioned by the use of substandard materials, fires caused by fake electrical appliances and road accidents brought due to fake and substandard tyres or vehicle parts, the S.O.N says this must stop completely .
The acting DG says no one found wanting would be spared even if they are members of staff of the organisation.
He said the era of seizure and destruction is over as offenders would be arrested and prosecuted.
As a signal of walking the talk he led other enforcement officers to seal up over 15 warehouses with various products proven to be fake and substandard.
The S.O.N assured that in the nearest future Nigeria will become a force to be reckoned with in terms of exportable world standard products.
