TMG commends President Buhari anti graft campaign

The Transition Monitoring Group (TMG) says the thirteen count charges levelled against the Senate President, Bukola Saraki by the Code of Conduct Tribunal for falsification of assets declaration is a plus to the on going fight against corruption.
The TMG Chairman, Comrade Ibrahim Zikirullahi gave the indication today at a news conference in Abuja.
He said the action against the Senate President, should not be seen as a witch hunt by the Buhari’s government but a wake-up call to public servants and political office holders to be transparent and accountable.
Comrade Zikirullahi however noted that timeline should not be seen as a yard stick by alleged offenders no matter their status to evade the full wrath of the law as the framework for accountability in governance are being erected.
On the issues of special court for anti grapht related matters, the TMG Chairman said President Muhammadu Buhari needs to work closely with the Chief Justice of Nigeria in getting it done as well as appointing fearless and untainted judges to try looters of the nation’s wealth.
He further urged Nigerians to support the Buhari’s anti corruption crusade as the present administration can not do it alone.
