 UNIPORT Shut Down Over Protest

The management of University of port harcourt (UNIPORT) has declared that the University been shut down for one month following the violent protest over the schools new tuition fee policy on Monday.
This was disclosed by the Deputy Registrar of the institution, Williams Wodi, on Monday.
According to Wodi, all students are to vacate their hostel accommodation before 6pm. He reiterated further that the student union and their affiliate bodies have also been suspended till further notice.
The initially peaceful protest over the hike in tuition fee later turned into a violent one by the aggrieved students which blocked major roads into the school and stopped academic activities from taking place
